Japanese Folk Mask Pin (Brown Nuke)

Japanese Folk Mask Pin (Brown Nuke)

Sale Price:£55.00 Original Price:£75.00

Each Folk Mask Pin is inspired by Japanese fairy tales and the masks worn during the traditional Kirin Lion Dance Parade (麒麟獅子舞) in the Gongen Matsuri (Gongen Festival) held in Tottori. The role of the Nuke in the Kirin Lion dance parade is to stand ahead of the apes in the Kirin Lion Dance Parade to widen the path as alleyways were much narrower than they are now. The Leather Mask Pins are handmade by Kodai Asakura, half of the husband and wife unit Ko-ma workshop. Designed after the turmeric-coloured cotton hood that those who played the role of the Nuke in the Gongen Festival would wear.

Due to the nature of leather, over time the colour of the leather may darken and become glossy with age.
Water damage may occur if your pin badge comes into contact with water.
Avoid leaving your mask pin in the sun for long periods of time.
Do not apply large amounts of force to the leather, as this may cause distortion.
